Public Resource Management

Managing public resources - whether natural resources, public utilities, mass transit, parks, or wildlife preserves - requires a balancing act among many competing interests. Public opinion, politicians, environmentalists, local municipalities, industry – many outside groups have a vested interest in how resource managers do their jobs and exert subtle or overt pressure to influence the direction of policy. In addition, many agencies have internal groups with competing agendas that create complex challenges for leadership.

Programs

In this world, gaining Operational Synergy requires thoughtful and purposeful leadership.

MCS's leadership program for public resource management challenges participants to acquire awareness, attitudes, and skills to become highly effective supervisors and leaders of interdisciplinary and diverse teams.

The main vehicle for achieving Operational Synergy is the development of primary leaders. Primary leaders build a foundation of common leadership tools and language and learn to be more adaptive and resilient in Leading  Interdisciplinary Teams and in Leading Natural Resource Teams.

In addition to developing primary leaders, we help develop Operational Synergy by conducting Advanced Workshops.

Assisting organizations achieve Operational Synergy in high-risk, high-stakes environments.
